Managing your design rights

• As with all assets, design rights need protecting in order to maintain and realise their value.
• Registering designs is a cost effective way of securing your rights.
• The Registry does not examine design registrations for conflict with earlier rights. It's up to the owner to monitor designs being used by competitors.
• If you become aware of unauthorised use of your design rights then you should contact us as soon as possible.
• We can then advise you of the appropriate action to take in order to prevent their use and if appropriate cancel a later design registration.
